Shine India releases the magazine every month for the
candidates who are preparing for bank examinations. One of the articles which
are published in Shine India magazines is here which says Narmada dam
overflows in page number 21of October.
Gujarat’s
Narmada dam overflowed at its full 138.68 meter height for the first time,
after it was completed with the installation of gates in 2017. With large
amounts of water being released from the omkareshwar and the indira sagar dams
in Madhya Pradesh, the dam was receiving heavy inflow.
After
the installation and closure of 30 gates in 2017, its maximum height had
increased from 121.92 m to 138.68 m. Prime Minister Narendra modi was present
on his birthday on 17 Sep to offer prayers at the dam. More than 3,500 people
from 23 villages and some areas of barouche district were shifted to safer
locations.
